Conference on Devotional Practices across spiritual Traditions in January 2015. Discussion panels on: ritual objects; ritual words, song, dance; congregational and solitary prayer; art making as devotional practice.Twenty presentations by representatives of different faiths and traditions, including Orthodox and Catholic clergy, a Buddhist monk, a Muslim and a Jewish calligraphist, and an Indian dancer, and academic speakers from the Getty Museum, Fuller Seminary, Pepperdine University, UC Riverside, Stanford University. The conference was intended to accompany the concurrent art exhibition “Vessels and Channels” by American contemporary sculptor Simon Toparovsky at the side-chapels of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles (11/9/14 - 2/15/15).

LMU's Sunken Garden transformed into a world market with international merchants, performances of all kinds and staged readings by accomplished international actors, including Danny Glover, CCH Pounder and Michael Learned. Hosted by the LMU Marymount Institute for Faith, Culture and the Arts, in spring 2008.
